La Briquerie has two stone holiday cottages - Rose Cottage & Vine Cottage - which were completely renovated in 2002 and are constantly being improved. Both cottages have full central heating and wood-burning fireplaces, which makes them perfect for holidays all year round. The cottages open onto a central courtyard with private areas furnished with garden furniture for outdoor dining. Vine Cottage : entrance [click to enlarge]The cottages share a laundry room which has a washing machine and tumble dryer. All bedding and linen (duvets, pillows, sheets & covers), towels, tea towels and dish cloths are supplied, but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels for the swimming pool. Guests also share a games area in the main house where you’ll find snooker, table tennis, table football, board games, puzzles and holiday reading.

Rose Cottage - sleeps up to 6 adults + 2 cots
Rose Cottage faces west so captures the afternoon and evening sun. The ground floor has a light and airy open-plan kitchen/dinning/lounge area. The fitted kitchen area is well equipped with a full-size cooker, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, a kettle and a dishwasher. Rose Cottage : lounge [click to enlarge]The lounge also faces the courtyard and is very comfortably furnished with sofas and a hand-painted French dresser. There is also a television (French stations only), a DVD/video player with a library of films/music and a portable cassette/CD player with Long Wave reception for BBC Radio 4.
Upstairs are three bedrooms (one with an en suite shower room) and a family bathroom. The Master bedroom - an extension in the barn - has a high vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and views of the river. The room is very bright, light and airy and is furnished with romantic period furniture. This bedroom has an en suite shower room with a walk-in shower, a WC and a wash basin. The second bedroom also overlooks the river and is furnished with two twin beds, a built-in wardrobe and a dressing table. The third bedroom is furnished with a double bed. Additional drawer space is provided on the landing. The family bathroom has a bath with mixer taps and shower attachment, a separate walk-in shower, a WC and a wash basin.

Vine Cottage : lounge [click to enlarge]Vine Cottage was a bakery for the hunting lodge. The bread oven is still part of the building and the original bread paddle has been mounted on the main stone wall. The old hearth is now part of the wood-burning fireplace in the lounge, which is a cosy place to relax during the cooler months.
The dining area has a large table and chairs and garden furniture has been provided in the courtyard for eating alfresco. The modern fitted kitchen area has a full-size cooker, a fridge-freezer, a microwave and a dishwasher, as well as a kettle.
