| The main house at La Briquerie has a games area on the ground floor with a snooker table, table football (BabyFoot), table tennis and exercise equipment. In addition, you can play giant snakes & ladders and boules in the courtyard, along with the "Briquerie Treasure Hunt" and "I spy". A holiday library has been provided, which includes a range of magazines, books and board games for guests’ use throughout their stay. There is also a central library of CDs, DVDs and videos for loan (including films for children). Additional on-site activities for children can also be arranged. |

| La Briquerie is the perfect place to swim and sunbathe. The garden is south-facing, so you can settle down with a good book and relax on the sunloungers - and if the sun gets too hot, you’ll always find welcome shade somewhere in the garden. | | ![The swimming pool [click to enlarge] The swimming pool [click to enlarge]](http://www.domaine-de-la-briquerie.com/sites/letsites/clients/briquerie/photos/briquerie_006_.jpg) |

| The river is a great source of things to see and do. For those who enjoy fishing, there is a fishing platform just outside the front gate from where you might catch perch, pike, catfish, eels or sander. Fishing is a local hobby for most people along the Vilaine, so licences and bait can be bought locally. We have fold-up chairs for use on the platform, as well as a spare rod and reel if you’ve forgotten your own or you just want to try out your skills. For enthusiasts, there are public and private trout lakes, many within a 10-minute drive. |

The water is normally calm, so rowing is not too strenuous to get to the numerous picnic spots along the river banks. (Life jackets for children and adults are available.) |

 |
| The towpath beside the river is perfect for cycling and La Briquerie is actually located on a marked cycle path. Ten adult-size bicycles and two child-size bicycles have been provided for guests to use on a first-come-first-served basis. Cycling is a great way to get to see the local area or just for buying the morning bread and croissants! |

| If you enjoy walking, the pretty footpaths and lanes around La Briquerie and Langon are safe to explore on foot. There are also very attractive tracks and trails around the "Etang du Baron". For the more adventurous, directions and detailed maps for longer rambles are available (most within a 15-minute drive of La Briquerie). | | ![River Vilaine & cycle path [click to enlarge] River Vilaine & cycle path [click to enlarge]](http://www.domaine-de-la-briquerie.com/sites/letsites/clients/briquerie/photos/briquerie_021_.jpg) |

| Langon has many sporting activities on offer, including horse riding stables. Prices are very reasonable, and both riders and horses are well looked after. Riders of all levels and ages are catered for and the longer treks (randonnées) available during July and August are worth doing (although it is advisable to book in advance). |

Between June and September, there are several local festivals and fairs which celebrate such things as chestnuts, the river, medieval times and even twins! |
